The Piedmont City Jail houses pre and post trial defendants from the Piedmont Municipal Court. The City Jail is also used to temporarily house defendants arrested for felony offenses before their transfer to the Calhoun County Jail.
Suspension and Revocation
Visitation is a privilege that may be suspended or revoked for cause at any time.
Time of Visitation
Inmate visitation is conducted on Wednesdays from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm, but only if police personnel are available.
Visitation by Professionals
Attorneys, Physicians, Mental Health Professionals, and Licensed Clergy may schedule visitation/consultation for other time periods.
Number of Visitors
Inmates are allowed one adult visitor at a time per inmate. Inmates may have multiple visitors
Length of Visit
Visitors may not stay longer than thirty minutes each.
Child Visitors
Inmates will be allowed a maximum of one additional child visitor at a time per inmate. An adult must accompany each child visitor at all times. Unruly children and their accompanying parent/adult will be removed.
Personal Items of Visitors
No personal items such as purses, wallets, and cellular phones, etc. will be allowed inside the police department. The only exception to this rule is car keys. Visitors are encouraged to secure personal items inside their vehicles.
Search of Visitors
All visitors are subject to searches of their person as a prerequisite to visitation.
Personal Property for Inmates
Items left for inmates will only be taken after regular visiting hours have ceased and must be screened by an on-duty officer.
Personal items permitted for inmates
Personal items permissible for inmates are limited to the following:
*Hygiene products are provided by the jail.
Money for Inmates
Cash left for inmates will only be taken after regularly scheduled visitation and must be taken and receipted by the on-duty dispatcher.
